“that makes you ENORMOUSLY insignificant to this world”
‘Significance’ is a subjective value judgment, i.e. how important something is TO YOU. ‘the world’ is not a sentient being and therefore makes no judgment on my significance.
They way I see it, a united world government is an absolute inevitability of mankind.. anyone who stands against that and wants to divide us up is the ball and chain on progress
god everyone wants independence.. I might declare independence from the rest of my street
Friends can be physical?

what type of music do you produce?
Used to be fairly dubby and psychill kinda stuff, works in progress are leaning more towards glitch hop
I’m not the only one, my housemate goes on long rants about how swing was a way for the downtrodden and minorities of its time to have a voice that would be heard and has persisted, and how electroswing is taking away that voice, and stealing bits of the aesthetic so white middle class people can dance to it and know nothing about its roots
I don’t actually dislike it politically in this manner, I just don’t like the fact it is 4-4 and housey 😉
I’d say if you want to hear a really good electronic reworking of jazz/blues/swing samples you should check out Long Arm, a real master at resampling

I cant stand it myself, it’s like the worst bits of swing combined with the worst type of dance music…
Each to their own though

No, no and no, all stupid ideas
Mostly shite, but I won’t automatically dislike something just because it’s mainstream.
If you trawl through all the n-dubz and coldplay there have been some excellent mainstream bands

Soundcloud and facebook seems to be the best place to do it online at the moment, getting a paid soundcloud account and posting to lots of groups is a good technique. If you hop on google you’ll find loads of companies that will work on your promotion for a fee.
But as someone who has spent vast swathes of time promoting music that people aren’t massively interested in, I’ve learned the key to getting your band known is to work really really hard at making your music awesome, making it stand out. If it’s a cut above, people will share it and promote it for you
Great art doesn’t stay a secret for long
Our choices are ‘predetermined’ in the sense that they are ultimately a product of our environment, based on everything we have learned, all our value judgements and abstractions we have previously made, all the information that our environment has presented to us for that particular decisions
However this doesn’t mean that we don’t actually make choices, we do. People think of ‘free will’ as this etherial abstract decision making entity that is totally non-influenced by our body and brain, the dualistic view of mind, but it’s not like that, our brain IS our mind, and it’s a product of our environment
But we STILL make choices with it, if we start taking a sensible definition of ‘free will’ as ‘can use their brain to make a choice’, then yes, we all have free will, and we are all responsible for our actions.
Yahoo answers is pretty good for this kinda thing
It would be hard to pick one.. and it will always change over time.. but probably this
